From It to Stranger Things: Must-Watch TV Series Premiering Before Year's End

Though 2025 is drawing to a close, the next two months feature several major series premieres worth looking forward to, including a It prequel, new seasons of bestselling games adaptation (The Witcher and Fallout), the latest season of a novel-based series (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2), and the final season of Netflix's flagship show (Stranger Things).

It – Welcome to Derry, Premiering on Crave on Oct 27

This horror series serves as a prequel to the It films. It's created by writer Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) and Brad Kane (Warrior), with Andy Muschietti, director of both It films, returning to direct. The series stars Jovan Adepo (3 Body Problem), Chris Chalk (Perry Mason), Independent Spirit Award winner Taylour Paige (Zola), James Remar (Black Lightning), and Stephen Rider (Daredevil). Bill Skarsgård will also return as Pennywise the Clown.

The first season of the series is set in 1962. If it successfully gets renewed for a second and third season, they will presumably move the timeline back to 1935 (27 years prior) and then to 1908 (another 27 years prior), narrating unfortunate events from the original novel. Additionally, Chris Chalk's character is Dick Hallorann, the hotel chef from Stephen King's other classic horror novel, The Shining. It will be interesting to see how this series connects to the story of The Shining.
