From Stranger Things to Game of Thrones Spinoff: 10 Trailers Teasing the Next Wave of Must-See TV
As 2025 comes to a close, the major streaming giants have unleashed a wave of trailers to drum up excitement for their 2026 lineups. The upcoming schedule is particularly packed for January, with a heavy emphasis on returning fan favorites and a high-concept spin-off.
Stranger Things Final Season Volume 2, Streaming on Netflix on December 25
The final season of the global phenomenon Stranger Things is drawing to a close in a massive three-part event on Netflix. While the first four episodes are currently available, the next three will premiere on December 25, at 9:00 PM EST. Fans will then have to wait just one more week for the series finale, which is set to drop on December 31, at 9:00 PM EST. The final stretch of the show boasts a prestigious directorial team including the Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine), and Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption).
In terms of the story, the stakes have never been higher. Following Eleven and Jim Hopper’s victory at the upside-down military base, the group discovered Eight (Kali), a fellow experimental subject from Eleven’s childhood. Meanwhile, Vecna has launched a full-scale Demogorgon invasion into the real world. As the monsters closed in on Mike, Lucas, and Robin, Will finally manifested his own supernatural powers to save them. Additionally, Sadie Sink’s character, Max, remains in a coma, but her consciousness is now active within Vecna’s memory world.
His & Hers, Streaming on Netflix on January 8
This miniseries is an adaptation of the Alice Feeney novel. Created and directed by William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth) and written by Dee Johnson (ER) and Bill Dubuque (Ozark), the show features a high-profile cast including Tessa Thompson (Thor), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil), and Pablo Schreiber (Halo).
Set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna lives in haunting reclusivity, fading away from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega – the sleepy town where she grew up – Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation.
The Pitt Season 2, Premiering on Crave on January 8
The first season of this series premiered in January of this year, created and led by showrunner R. Scott Gemmill, a veteran writer of the hit medical drama ER. The production also features direction from John Wells (ER), with lead actor Noah Wyle (ER) both starring in and writing several episodes. The show explores the modern challenges faced by healthcare workers in the United States through the eyes of frontline heroes at a hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At this year’s Emmy Awards, the debut season was a major success, winning Outstanding Drama Series along with Outstanding Lead Actor for Noah Wyle and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa.
The second season will follow the same format as the first, consisting of fifteen episodes that each depict one hour of life in the emergency room. This upcoming season is set during the Fourth of July, which also marks the first day back at work for Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball). While Tracy Ifeachor will not be returning to her role as Heather Collins, Sepideh Moafi (Black Bird) is set to join the starring cast.
Tehran Season 3, Premiering on Apple TV on January 9
Having first premiered in 2020, this series saw its debut season win the International Emmy Award for Best Drama. Consistent with the previous two seasons, this season will consist of eight episodes, all of which are once again directed by Daniel Syrkin. However, the writers from the first two seasons have not returned for this new chapter. Although filming was completed as early as mid-2023, the release was delayed due to the conflict in Gaza and the heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, as the show's core theme focuses on the espionage war between those two nations. In addition to the returning cast, the series welcomes two-time Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie (House.) Furthermore, Apple TV+ has officially confirmed the renewal of the series for a fourth season, which is already in production.
The Night Manager Season 2, Premiering on Prime Video on January 11
The season is directed by Georgi Banks-Davies, and David Farr will continue to write for the series. The main cast from the first season—Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Alistair Petrie, and Douglas Hodge—will return, along with other returning actors including Rex Mayhew, Michael Nardone, and Noah Jupe. Industry Season 4, Premiering on Crave on January 11
Having first premiered in 2020, this series has seen its critical reputation grow with each passing season, subsequently launching several of its lead actors into numerous film roles. Consistent with the previous three installments, this season will consist of eight episodes and continues to be created by showrunners Mickey Down and Konrad Kay.
A significant change for the new season is the departure of lead actor Harry Lawtey, who will not be returning. This leaves Marisa Abela, Myha'la Herrold, and Ken Leung as the only original cast members to have remained in starring roles since the first season. However, the cast is expanding with an impressive list of newcomers, including Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale), Toheeb Jimoh(Ted Lasso), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Kal Penn (Designated Survivor), Jack Farthing (Spencer) and Stephen Campbell Moore (Masters of the Air.)
At the top of their game and living the lives they set out to have as Pierpoint grads, Harper (Myha’la) and Yasmin (Marisa Abela) are drawn into a high stakes, globetrotting cat-and-mouse game when a splashy fintech darling bursts onto the London scene. Hijack Season 2, Premiering on Apple TV on January 14
This season will consist of eight episodes. In addition to the returning lead cast, the new starring lineup includes Clare-Hope Ashitey (Seven Seconds), Lisa Vicari (Dark), Toby Jones (Captain America franchise) and Christiane Paul (FBI: International.)
A Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while, above ground, authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives. Sam Nelson (Elba) is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1, Premiering on Crave on January 18
It is the second spin-off from Game of Thrones, following House of the Dragon, and is adapted from the novella collection Tales of Dunk and Egg. The first season will adapt the short story The Hedge Knight. The story is set 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones and follows the adventures of the future Daenerys Targaryen's great-grandfather, Aegon V Targaryen (played by Dexter Sol Ansell), as a young boy, and his traveling companion, Ser Duncan the Tall (played by Peter Claffey). The series is created by novel series author George R. R. Martin and Ira Parker (Better Things). Directing duties are handled by Owen Harris (who directed the Emmy-winning Black Mirror episode San Junipero) and Sarah Adina Smith (who won the DGA Award for Outstanding Directing – Miniseries or TV Film for Lessons in Chemistry). Other cast members include Finn Bennett (Warfare), Olivier Award-winner Bertie Carvel (The Crown), Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen), and Sam Spruell (Outlaw King).

Paradise Season 2, Premiering on Disney+ on February 23
In line with the previous season, this installment will consist of eight episodes. In addition to the returning main cast from last season, the supporting cast for this season will include Shailene Woodley (the Divergent franchise) and Thomas Doherty (Gossip Girl.)
Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.
The Boys Final Season, Premiering on Prime Video on April 8
Consistent with the previous four seasons, this final installment will consist of eight episodes with Eric Kripke continuing his role as showrunner. In a major highlight for fans, the cast will feature a significant Supernatural reunion; while Jensen Ackles returns as Soldier Boy, the show's other two leads, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, are also set to make guest appearances. Additionally, Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer) will join the cast as a series regular. The story is set six months after the events of the spinoff series Gen V and will incorporate various elements and characters from that show. Although this season marks the conclusion of the main series, the franchise will continue to expand through other spinoffs, including the prequel series Vought Rising, which is currently in production.
