The Battles of 2026: Watch the New Trailers for Jujutsu Kaisen and BLEACH

During the annual Jump Festa event, major updates and trailers were released for several blockbuster anime series, including the highly anticipated third season of Jujutsu Kaisen and the final chapter of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Premiering on Crunchroll on January 8

The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen, titled The Culling Game – Part 1, follows the devastating events of the Shibuya Incident. The story centers on a deadly ritual designed by Noritoshi Kamo that forces sorcerers and newly awakened curse-users into a brutal battle royale across ten massive barriers in Japan. Overwhelmed by guilt from the Shibuya massacre and wary of Ryomen Sukuna's interest in Megumi Fushiguro, Yuji Itadori decides not to return to Jujutsu High. Instead, he teams up with Choso to eliminate the countless cursed spirits unleashed by Noritoshi Kamo. Amidst this chaos, the Jujutsu headquarters has lifted Yuji’s suspended death sentence and appointed special-grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu as his executioner. This season explores the clash between these two powerful sorcerers and the shifting power dynamics as ancient sorcerers are reincarnated for this era of peak jujutsu warfare.

The original manga for Jujutsu Kaisen was created by Gege Akutami and ran from 2018 to 2024. It won sixth place at the Next Manga Awards and first place in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics. The anime, produced by animation studio MAPPA (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Chainsaw Man), premiered in 2020 and won the Anime of the Year award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. In 2021, Toho produced the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0 into a film that grossed nearly $200 million globally. They also released a compilation film for the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" arc from the second season this past May and a compilation film for the "Shibuya Incident Arc" with the addition of the first two episodes from the third season in November.

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Final Part, Premiering in July 2026

The epic conclusion to the BLEACH saga, titled The Calamity, picks up after the Squad Zero’s fierce attempt to stop Yhwach from entering the Royal Palace. Despite their efforts, the Quincy King and his elite guard have broken through to the inner sanctum.

As the death of the Soul King threatens the stability of the three worlds—Soul Society, the World of the Living, and Hueco Mundo—Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies are tasked with the final defense. Yhwach has transformed the palace into the “True World Castle”, where the Sternritter wait to engage the remaining Gotei 13 captains in a final, desperate battle. Ichigo, having reaffirmed his bond with Uryu Ishida, prepares for a showdown against a Yhwach who has now transcended "The Almighty."

The original BLEACH manga was created by Tite Kubo and enjoyed a long-running serialization from 2001 to 2016. The initial anime adaptation was produced by Studio Pierrot—the same studio behind the Naruto franchise and Black Clover—and aired from 2004 to 2012, spawning four original feature films during its run. However, that original series concluded after adapting the "Lost Agent" arc, leaving the manga’s final chapter, the "Thousand-Year Blood War" arc, unadapted for a decade. In 2022, the anime finally made its long-awaited return with BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War. To date, three parts of this revival have been released. The series is set to conclude with the upcoming fourth and final part.
