Lights, Camera, Chaos: Marvel's Wonder Man Official Trailer Is Here
Marvel is kicking off 2026 with a meta-twist on the superhero genre. Following the weekly hype for Avengers: Doomsday, a new trailer for Wonder Man have officially arrived.
Wonder Man is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27. This series is created by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), with Guest serving as showrunner and Cretton directing the first two episodes. Other episode directors include James Ponsoldt (The Circle). Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen) will star as the protagonist Simon Williams / Wonder Man. Also returning are Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) as comedic actor Trevor Slattery, and Arian Moayed (Ms. Marvel) as Damage Control agent P. Cleary. European Film Award winner for Best Actor Zlatko Burić (Triangle of Sadness), Olivia Thirlby (Goliath) and Byron Bowers (Lady in the Lake) will also appear. Demetrius Grosse and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris (Westworld, The Truman Show) will play Simon Williams’ brother and manager, respectively, with Grosse's character being the comic book villain Grim Reaper.
This series, like Echo, will be released under the "Marvel Spotlight" banner, suggesting a more grounded approach with less direct connection to the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) storyline. The show will present a comedic take on the Hollywood entertainment industry, following Simon Williams as he auditions for a leading role in a superhero film, Wonder Man. The latest footage provides a much clearer look at the double life of Simon Williams. While the previous teaser focused almost entirely on the Hollywood satire and Simon's struggle as a "working actor," this new trailer finally showcases his ionic energy powers. Interestingly, Simon appears to be suppressing these abilities to pursue a legitimate acting career, even as he auditions for a Wonder Man reboot within the MCU itself. However, his secret doesn't stay hidden for long, as the Department of Damage Control (DODC)—represented by Arian Moayed’s Agent Cleary—officially labels him an "extraordinary threat."
In addition to the trailer, Marvel also released a new poster.
Beyond Wonder Man, Marvel is preparing a packed schedule for the rest of 2026. In March, the second season of Daredevil: Born Again is set to arrive, followed by a busy summer featuring a special presentation of The Punisher and the highly anticipated second season of the animated hit X-Men '97. As the year draws to a close, fans can look forward to the VisionQuest series and the second season of the animated show Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
On the big screen, Marvel has two major theatrical releases lined up. The fourth Spider-Man film, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is scheduled for July, while the year will culminate in the massive crossover event Avengers: Doomsday in December.
