New Trailers for 6 Highly Anticipated TV Series, Including the IT Prequel and The Bear!
In addition to the new trailers for DC series Peacemaker Season 2 and the Marvel series Ironheart last week, several other highly anticipated TV series have also released new trailers in recent days:
Rick and Morty Season 8, Premiering May 25th on StackTV
Like previous seasons, this season will consist of ten episodes. The episode titles continue to parody famous films, including The Sum of All Fears, Valkyrie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Last Temptation of Christ, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Stranger than Fiction, and Nomadland. It is believed that the plots of these episodes will also be related to these films. Starting last season, Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden replaced Justin Roiland, who was embroiled in a domestic violence scandal, as the voices of Rick and Morty, respectively. Compared to the highly praised first six seasons, the last season's reviews declined slightly. Early reviews of this season suggest that its quality is similar.
The Bear Season 4, Premiering June 25th on Disney+
This season was filmed immediately after the previous season and, like previous seasons, consists of ten episodes, all of which will be released at the same time. The overall pacing of the last season was much slower than the first two seasons, and there was also a change in tone. The ending set up some important character and plot changes, which will finally be resolved this season. The sixth episodes of the previous two seasons were flashback episodes, detailing the pasts of the protagonist Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas), respectively. It is believed that this season will be no exception and will use the sixth episode to tell the past of another character. In addition, this show has consistently brought in many well-known actors as guest stars, including Academy Award winner Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All At Once), Academy Award winner Olivia Colman (The Favourite), and John Cena (Peacemaker). It is unknown who will guest star this season.
Foundation Season 3, Premiering July 11th on Apple TV+
Beyond the returning main cast from the previous season, this season introduces some exciting new principal actors. These include Alexander Siddig, known for his role in Gotham, and Troy Kotsur, the Academy Award-winning actor from CODA. Taking on the role of "The Mule" will be Pilou Asbæk, familiar to fans of Game of Thrones, and the three-time Emmy-winning actress Cherry Jones also joins the cast.
However, the production of this season hasn't been without its hurdles. Mid-way through filming, the series faced delays due to budget issues. This ultimately led to the departure of showrunner David S. Goyer and another producer. The production company then had to bring in Tim Southam, director of ONE PIECE, to take over directing the remaining episodes, while Fear The Walking Dead showrunner Ian Goldberg stepped in to replace Goyer as the showrunner for the fourth season.
Set 152 years after the events of season two, The Foundation has become increasingly established far beyond its humble beginnings while the Cleonic Dynasty’s Empire has dwindled. As both of these galactic powers forge an uneasy alliance, a threat to the entire galaxy appears in the fearsome form of a warlord known as “The Mule,” whose sights are set on ruling the universe by use of physical and military force as well as mind control. It’s anyone’s guess who will win, who will lose, who will live and who will die as Hari Seldon, Gaal Dornick, the Cleons and Demerzel play a potentially deadly game of intergalactic chess.
