Checking into France: Helena Bonham Carter and Steve Coogan Join The White Lotus Season 4
HBO’s hit anthology series The White Lotus has a reputation for assembling world-class ensembles that consistently dominate the Emmy acting categories. As production for the fourth season prepares to kick off, the guest list for the latest luxury resort is finally coming together.
The cast of the fourth season of The White Lotus includes Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Ari Graynor, Alexander Ludwig and Chris Messina.
The fourth season of HBO’s hit anthology series The White Lotus is expected to start production in France this Spring. As reported by Deadline in the past two months, the confirmed cast for Season 4 features a blend of industry veterans and exciting newcomers: BAFTA winner Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech), Sandra Bernhard (American Horror Story), three-time BAFTA Best Male Comedy Performance winner Steve Coogan (Stan & Ollie), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), Alexander Ludwig (Bad Boys franchise), Ari Graynor (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), AJ Michalka, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, and Dylan Ennis.
After taking viewers to Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, Season 4 will be set in France. According to an exclusive report from Variety last month, the one of the filming locations will be the Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez. Additional filming will take place in Paris and along the French Riviera. Rumors suggest the plot may even involve the Cannes Film Festival, which takes place in May.
Created, written, and directed by Mike White, the series has become an Emmy powerhouse. The first season won numerous Emmy Awards including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Directing (Mike White), Outstanding Writing (Mike White), Outstanding Supporting Actor (Murray Bartlett) and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Jennifer Coolidge). Jennifer Coolidge also won another Outstanding Supporting Actress award for the second season. The third season premiered last year to high viewership and critical acclaim, though it faced stiffer competition at the awards.
