Get Ready for a Zombie Apocalypse: First Trailer for Marvel Zombies is Here!
Following last month's Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel's next animated series, Marvel Zombies, is set to debut on Disney+ this month.
All four episodes of Marvel Zombies will be released on Disney+ on September 24. Bryan Andrews, the lead director of What If…?, will serves as showrunner and director, and write the scripts with Zeb Wells (Deadpool & Wolverine). The animated miniseries is a continuation of the story from What If...? Season 1, Episode 5, What If... Zombies?!. After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discover the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world.
As part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many characters from the films and series will return, including:
Scarlet Witch / Wanda Maximoff from the Avengers franchise, voiced by Elizabeth Olsen.
Valkyrie from the Thor franchise, voiced by Tessa Thompson.
Ant-Man / Scott Lang and Jimmy Woo from the Ant-Man franchise, voiced by Paul Rudd and Randall Park.
Shang-Chi and Katy from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, voiced by Simu Liu and Awkwafina.
Hawkeye / Kate Bishop from Hawkeye, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld.
Ms. Marvel / Kamala Khan from Ms. Marvel, voiced by Iman Vellani.
Black Widow / Yelena Belova, Red Guardian / Alexei Shostakov, and U.S. Agent / John Walker from Thunderbolts*, voiced by Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Wyatt Russell.
Ironheart / Riri Williams from Ironheart, voiced by Dominique Thorne.
What If...?, which premiered on Disney+ in 2021, was the first animated series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, centered on the adventures of different Marvel characters in the multiverse. The series ran for three seasons, with the final one airing last year. Besides this series, Marvel also launched X-Men '97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on Disney+, both of which have been renewed for a second season, expected to premiere next year. On the live-action front, Marvel will release Wonder Man later this year, followed by Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Vision Quest, and a Punisher special episode next year.
