Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Trailer Teases Yuta's Return and a New Conflict!
Jujutsu Kaisen is making a comeback! The third season is set to premiere in January of next year.
Crunchyroll recently released a trailer announcing that the film Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins will premiere in Japan on November 7. This movie will be a compilation of the "Shibuya Incident Arc" from the anime's second season, with the addition of the first two episodes from the third season's "The Culling Game" arc. They also announced that the anime's third season will premiere in January of next year. The season will focus on Yuta Okkotsu, the special-grade sorcerer and protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, as he joins the battle. He will appear as an executioner, confronting Yuji Itadori. Both Yuji and Yuta come from the same school of jujutsu and both "bear a curse."
The original manga for Jujutsu Kaisen was created by Gege Akutami and ran from 2018 to 2024. It won sixth place at the Next Manga Awards and first place in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics. The anime, produced by animation studio MAPPA (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Chainsaw Man), premiered in 2020 and won the Anime of the Year award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. In 2021, Toho produced the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0 into a film that grossed nearly $200 million globally. They also released a compilation film for the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" arc from the second season this past May.
