A Wedding Derailed: A First Look at the Intense New Trailer for The Drama

In addition to the Michael biopic, another highly anticipated film, The Drama, released its official trailer yesterday. This new footage shifts focus from the initial meet-cute to the unraveling of a relationship just days before a wedding.

The Drama, is scheduled to premiere in Canada on April 3. This romantic comedy is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the creative mind behind the surreal Dream Scenario. The film features an electric, A-list pairing in the lead roles: Two-time Emmy Awards Outstanding Lead Actress winner Zendaya (Euphoria), Robert Pattinson (The Batman), Mamoudou Athie (Jurassic World: Dominion), Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza), Hailey Gates, and Zoë Winters.

A happily engaged couple is put to the test when a revelation sends their wedding week off the rails. The most compelling part of this trailer involves a dinner party conversation between the central couple and their friends. The group discusses the "worst thing" they have ever done. When it’s the turn of Emma (Zendaya), she makes a confession so disturbing that it leaves her fiancé, Charlie (Robert Pattinson), and their friends in a state of absolute shock. While the trailer doesn't explicitly name the deed, the fallout is clear: their relationship immediately derails. This central mystery is expected to be the emotional anchor of the film. Director Kristoffer Borgli is known for his unique and surreal storytelling, as seen in his previous hit Dream Scenario. That film earned Nicolas Cage a Golden Globe Best Actor nomination.

The Poster of The Drama

Apart from The Drama, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson will star together in two of the year’s biggest cinematic events, The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three. On the television front, the long-awaited Season 3 of Euphoria is finally set to premiere on April 12, 2026, after a four-year hiatus. Zendaya, who has already won two Emmys Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress for her portrayal of Rue, remains a top contender for the 2026 awards season.
