The Pitt Season 3 Teaser Trailer Released: Robby Returns Next January
The Emmy Award-winning Best Drama Series The Pitt will premiere its third season next January. HBO Max released a teaser trailer two weeks ago:
Season 3 of The Pitt is set to premiere on Crave in Canada next January, with R. Scott Gemmill (ER) continuing as showrunner following the first two seasons. Main cast member Supriya Ganesh will not return as Dr. Samira Mohan, while Ayesha Harris, who played night-shift doctor Parker Ellis in the first two seasons, will take on an expanded role as part of the main cast. The series is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh. At the end of last season, lead character Robby (Noah Wyle) left the emergency room to embark on a three-month motorcycle road trip, leaving his colleagues concerned that he was suicidal and might not return safely. Judging from the teaser trailer, Season 3 begins on Robby's first day back in the ER following his journey. Like the previous two seasons, this season will consist of 15 episodes, with each episode detailing one hour of real-time events in the ER.
The series premiered its first season in January of last year. In addition to R. Scott Gemmill, ER veteran John Wells directed several episodes, while lead actor Noah Wyle starred in and co-wrote select episodes. At last year's Emmy Awards, the first season won Best Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Noah Wyle), and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Katherine LaNasa). With this year's Emmy Awards ceremony coming up in two weeks, the second season of the series leads all contenders with 12 major nominations. Excluding Lead Actress, the show secured nominations across every major drama category, including three Supporting Actor nominations (Patrick Ball, Shawn Hatosy, and Gerran Howell) and four Supporting Actress nominations (Taylor Dearden, Fiona Dourif, Sepideh Moafi, and Katherine LaNasa).
