Javier Bardem and Amy Adams Face Off in Apple TV’s Cape Fear Teaser

Fans of Martin Scorsese's films must have seen Cape Fear, starring Robert De Niro, released more than thirty years ago. This film has recently been adapted into a TV miniseries, which will premiere on Apple TV in June:

Cape Fear will premiere on Apple TV on June 5. The first two episodes will be available on the same day, followed by a new episode every Friday. The series is adapted from John D. MacDonald's novel The Executioners, as well as its two film adaptations Cape Fear (1962) and Cape Fear (1991). It is created by Nick Antosca (Hannibal), and directed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game). Javier Bardem, the Cannes and Venice Best Actor winner and Oscar-winning star of No Country for Old Men, will play the villain Max Cady; Amy Adams, the two-time Golden Globe winner for American Hustle and Big Eyes, and Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring franchise), will play the lead couple. Other stars include Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles (Pretty Little Liars), and CCH Pounder (Full Circle). A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson) when Max Cady (Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.

The film Cape Fear was released in 1991, directed by Martin Scorsese, the Oscar-winning director of The Departed, and starred Robert De Niro, the Oscar-winning actor of Raging Bull, as the villain Max Cady; Oscar Best Actress winner and Emmy Outstanding Lead Actress winner Jessica Lange (American Horror Story), and Nick Nolte, the Golden Globe Best Actor winner for The Prince of Tides, played the lead couple. Among them, Robert De Niro and Juliette Lewis were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively, for this film.
