All Will Be Disclosed: Steven Spielberg’s UFO Project Finally Gets a Title and Trailer

Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg is back! With his latest project, Disclosure Day, he returns to the alien-themed storytelling that has defined some of his greatest works.

Disclosure Day is scheduled for release in North America on June 12, 2026. Two-time Oscar Best Director winner Steven Spielberg (Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan) directed the film and conceived the original story. The screenplay was written by David Koepp, who previously collaborated with Spielberg on Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds. The film stars Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), Emmy Outstanding Lead Actor winner Josh O'Connor (The Crown), Oscar Best Actor winner Colin Firth (The King's Speech), Eve Hewson (The Perfect Couple), and Colman Domingo (The Running Man). Spielberg is reuniting with his long-time creative collaborators, including two-time Oscar-winning cinematographer Janusz Kamiński, editor Sarah Broshar, three-time Oscar-winning editor Michael Kahn, and legendary five-time Oscar-winning composer John Williams. While Williams originally announced his retirement from film scoring after Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, he decided to work with Spielberg once again.

Steven Spielberg is no stranger to the extraterrestrial. His previous alien-focused films—Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and War of the Worlds—were all massive hits, ranking in the top five at the box office in their respective years. E.T. famously held the title of the highest-grossing film in history until it was surpassed by Spielberg’s own Jurassic Park. While it has been 17 years since Spielberg had a film in the annual box office top ten (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), there is high anticipation for Disclosure Day. His recent works, West Side Story and The Fabelmans, both received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture and Best Director, leading many to wonder if this new sci-fi epic will achieve similar critical and commercial success.

In addition to the trailer, Universal Pictures has released two character posters for the film.
