Daniel Day-Lewis's Comeback! First Trailer for Anemone Revealed!

After an eight-year "retirement," three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis is finally returning to the big screen, starring in the horror film Anemone, directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis.

Anemone is set to premiere on October 3rd in North America. The film is directed by Ronan Day-Lewis, who co-wrote the script with his father, Daniel Day-Lewis—the three-time Best Actor Oscar winner for My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Lincoln. The cast also includes Sean Bean (Game of Thrones), Samuel Bottomley (How to Have Sex), and Samantha Morton (The Whale). The film explores the complex and profound ties that exist between brothers, fathers, and sons.

Daniel Day-Lewis is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in the history of cinema. He is the only actor to have won three Academy Awards for Best Actor, a testament to his unmatched talent. In the 21st century alone, he has only made six films (not counting Anemone), yet he has received four Oscar nominations and won twice, highlighting the immense acclaim for his performances. In addition to his Oscars, he has also won four BAFTAs for the aforementioned roles, plus his performance in Gangs of New York.

After starring in Lincoln in 2012 and winning his third Oscar, he announced a temporary hiatus. He later returned in 2017 for Phantom Thread, which earned him another Oscar nomination. After completing that film, he announced his official retirement. Now, eight years later, he is making his comeback to star in a film directed by his son, which many fans are grateful to the director for. The movie will premiere next month at the New York Film Festival, and the world will soon find out if Daniel Day-Lewis has delivered another unforgettable performance.
