Pixar Unveils 3-Year Slate at D23: Announcements for Gatto, Ghost Market, Incredibles 3, and Coco 2

During last weekend’s D23 Expo, Pixar Animation Studios joined Marvel in revealing its major theatrical slate for the next three years, introducing original concept films alongside huge franchise sequels.

Gatto, North American Release Date: March 5, 2027

Directed by Luca filmmaker Enrico Casarosa—who also lends his voice to a role—the film features a star-studded vocal cast led by Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers franchise) and Laurence Fishburne (John Wick franchise). Following a teaser trailer released two months ago, Pixar unveiled new stills at D23.

The scrappy black cat Nero (voiced by Mark Ruffalo) begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives after years of maneuvering the canal-ridden, superstitious city of Venice, Italy. Indebted to Rocco (voiced by Laurence Fishburne), the ruthless local feline mob boss, Nero finds himself in a quandary and is forced to forge a truly unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose - unless Venice gets the better of him first.

Ghost Market, North American Release Date: March 10, 2028

Directed by Trevor Jimenez in his feature directorial debut, Ghost Market moves Pixar’s storytelling to the Pacific. Hidden away in a remote location on Oahu’s North Shore is ‘Ono Market, a plate lunch shop that serves lost spirits, stuck between life and death. The living have never set foot in this place - until a food-loving, would-be content creator named Kyle blunders in, eats a mixed plate for the dead, and accidentally turns himself into a half-ghost. To get back to normal, he’ll have to deal with paranormal deliveries, long hours in a haunted kitchen, and scariest of all...his own family.

Incredibles 3, North American Release Date: June 16, 2028

Helmed by Elemental director Peter Sohn from a story crafted by franchise creator Brad Bird, the third entry elevates the Parr family to new global heights. Once outlawed, Supers are now officially celebrated and at the center of the Super Hero League (SHL). While Bob and Helen grapple with new challenges at work and at home - including helping Jack-Jack control his powers and keeping an eye on Violet and Dash who are a little too eager to help - a mysterious new Supervillain of epic proportions emerges, pushing the Parr family to their limits.

Coco 2, North American Release Date: November 21, 2029

Returning directors Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina team up once again for the sequel, with Benjamin Bratt reprising his role as the legendary singer Ernesto de la Cruz. Three years after Miguel Rivera risked everything to bring harmony back to his family, the teenager has been filling the streets of Santa Cecilia with his music. But on the eve of an important audition, Miguel’s dreams are threatened when Ernesto de la Cruz - the fallen idol who won’t stay forgotten - returns for a vengeful encore. Miguel travels back to the Land of the Dead to reclaim the one thing he cannot live without, and learns it will take more than a song to save what matters most.
